Residents in Shenyang city of Liaoning province will soon have more travel choices, as two more air links will be added to the city’s airport from April 10.
Kunming-based Ruili Airlines signed a strategic agreement with Liaoning Airport Management Co Ltd to cooperate on launching new routes, building airport infrastructure, and exploring the aviation market in Liaoning province on March 31.
Ruili Airlines, established in 2013, is the first local airline in Yunnan province and has its headquarters in its capital city, Kunming. The airlines’ destinations cover 27 cities from 13 provinces and two municipalities in China.
Ruili Airlines plans to launch the two new routes from Shenyang to Lanzhou in Northwest China’s Gansu province, and Wenzhou in East China’s Zhejiang province.
Ruili Airlines will have a total of four routes in Shenyang when the two newly-launched services commence operations, as another two routes, the Kunming-Yulin-Shenyang service and the Kunming-Hohhot-Shenyang service have operated for some time.
According to the development strategy of Ruili Airlines, more domestic routes linking Shenyang and second-tier and third-tier cities across China will be launched in the future, and the planned international routes will focus on Asian destinations, according to Ma Zhanwei, chairman of Ruili Airlines at the signing ceremony held on March 31.
Ruili Airlines plans to establish a subsidiary in Shenyang during 2018 to expand its local market, with the number of aircraft it has based in Shenyang rising to 8, Ma claimed.
Both Shenyang airlines and Ruili Airlines will improve their market share in the aviation sector thanks to the cooperation, as the respective advantages of the two companies are expected to complement each other.
