Jiuyuan district is to cooperate with China Shipbuilding Industry No 713 Research Institute on a comprehensive energy project worth 4.55 billion yuan ($661 million) with an agreement signed between the two parties, reports Baotou Daily.
The comprehensive project contains five parts, including a 30.5 megawatt solar thermal electric power generation project worth 1.25 billion yuan, a thermal storage power generation project worth 1.2 billion yuan and a manufacturing project worth 2 billion yuan, which focuses on the equipment used for solar thermal electric power generation.
The project will be the main base for the research institute's solar-thermal projects in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Qinghai and Sichuan provinces.
The No 713 Research Institute belongs to China Shipbuilding Industry Co, one of the top ten military industrial companies in China. Established in 1963, the institute has its headquarters in Zhengzhou, capital city of Henan province. The institute boasts expertise in the research and manufacturing of electromechanical equipment.
