Heilongjiang will build 10 traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) -themed tourism bases to further develop the TCM industry in the province.
The Heilongjiang Health and Family Planning Commission and the Heilongjiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration jointly held a meeting recently, discussing TCM development work for 2017.
The meeting urged further improvements to the TCM service system, and the promotion of TCM in the provincial health care industry.
Heilongjiang boasts a good climate and TCM resources, which are good for people’s health.
"Rheumatism, which frequently occurs in South China, can be treated with good results in the cold weather of North China,” said Duan Fujin, a doctoral supervisor at Heilongjiang Traditional Chinese Medicine University.
In TCM tourism bases, local TCM hospitals are encouraged to establish international medical service departments to provide services for patients from foreign countries, such as acupuncture and cupping.
