Harbin has recently issued an action plan to build a modern agricultural production system, in an effort to standardize farming.
In the plan, the Harbin government urged the promotion of brand building for the city’s agricultural products, an increase in product quality and production efficiency, all helping to boost famers’ incomes.
According to the plan, the total grain output in Harbin will be maintained at more than 30 billion kilograms. More than 20 modern agricultural demonstration gardens will also be built.
Harbin will further optimize the planting structure of its agricultural products, reducing the planting area for corn, and expanding the planting areas for rice, potatoes, and the ingredients for Chinese herbal medicines, according to the plan.
