Inspired by the theme of “Carrying forward traditional culture and celebrating the Lantern Festival”, the show has five themed activities, such as tasting Yuanxiao, a Chinese food traditionally eaten during Lantern Festival, and guessing lantern riddles.

The show's opening night attracted huge crowds who came to see lanterns illuminating a two kilometer-long path meandering through the park and to taste Yuanxiao, cooked fresh in a big pot.

A dragon dance, lion dance and a popular rural folk dance known as yangko were just some of the performing arts staged at the Folk Culture Exhibition, which opened on Feb 12. One of the most popular is the Huagun Dance, an intangible cultural embodiment of Lushunkou city.
The show was co-hosted by the People’s Government of Lushunkou and Dalian Tourism Association.
