Detailed Itinerary:
In the morning, we start for the Huguang Scenic Area of Zhanjiang District of Leiqiong Global Geopark, which is a National 4A Scenic Spot. The scenic area features the Huguang Yan Lake, one of the only two extant maar lakes in the world. The water in the lake is limpid and rich in minerals. The surface is as smooth as a mirror, thus was known as the "Mirror Lake" in ancient times. The Buddhists regard the lake water as sacred.
Next to the lake stands the green Lion Hill, which, formed by volcanic explosion about 160,000 years ago, is a valuable natural heritage. The quiet forest at the foot of the Lion Hill is rich in negative oxygen ions and is cooler than the outside world. The bottom of the lake holds very thick volcanic ashes, which are of significant scientific value and cosmetic and health effect. We stay there for two hours and paid the extra fee for the electric car ride.
After lunch, we head for the biggest deer farm in western Guangdong province, the Golden Deer Park (staying there for about 40 minutes). In this paradise of deer, you can see lush grasses, smell fragrant flowers and walk on the winding paths. Moreover, there are more than 200 deer here. You can see beautiful spotted deer, reindeer and red deer and you can also feed the deer and play with them. It is a relaxing experience to return to nature.
After that, we visit the South Asia Tropical Botanic Garden (staying there for about 40 minutes). In the garden, you can see blossoming flowers all year round, tall trees, thick bushes, and eat tasty fruits. The exotic flowers and fruits will make you relaxed and carefree. Finally, we visit the Sanling Mountain Forest Park (staying there for one hour). Known as the "City Lung" of Zhanjiang, it is the largest natural barrier of Zhanjiang city, which plays a significant role in reducing pollution, cleaning the air, regulating the climate and retaining water content. After that, we return to downtown Zhanjiang, and that concludes the trip.
