Located on the Yan'an Road in Xiashan district, the former site of the Police Station in Kwangchowan faces the French Legation in Kwangchowan across the street.
After the French troops invaded Kwangchowan (today's Zhanjiang) in 1899, a police bureau was established there, and the construction of the office building started in 1900.
It is a two-story building with a total floor area of about 400 square meters. It is a stone and brick structure with a spacious balcony in front of the gate that leads to the lobby.
With a solemn and respectful outer appearance, the Police Station Building adopted the style of traditional Western judiciary buildings. Of all the French-styled architectures, it is the oldest one. In May 2013, it was listed as one of the key historical relics under the protection of the State Council.
