The Huizhou Zhongkai (HZZK) High-tech Industrial Development Zone, named after Mr. Liao Zhongkai, a pioneer of the modern democratic revolution, was established in 1992 with the approval of the State Council. It is also part of the first batch of national high-tech zones in the country.
Zhongkai High-tech Zone is located in the center of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, is the core area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and has an all-round and three-dimensional comprehensive transportation system.
After years of development, the zone has built a modern industrial system dominated by intelligent terminals and new-generation panel displays, along with other industries, such as new energy, new generation information and communication technology, artificial intelligence, software and information services.
In 2021, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the zone reached a new level of 80.84 billion yuan ($11.44 billion), a year-on-year increase of 17.9 percent and an average growth of 8.6% across the two years.
During the 2021-2025 period, Zhongkai High-tech Zone is poised to become the core engine of Huizhou's trillion-level electronic information industry cluster and the main front of innovation-driven development.
